What's CBD All About? Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring component of hemp.  CBD is the most abundant non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in hemp and is being scientifically investigated for numerous reasons. CBD is extracted from the oil produced from the leaves, flowers, and stems of the hemp plant. This oil retains a range of the phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids found naturally in hemp.

  • Is hemp seed oil the same as CBD oil?

No.  Hemp seed oil is derived from the seed of the hemp plant,  does not include all of the same plant compounds and is primarily composed of omega fatty acids.

  • What is difference between hemp and marijuana?

Unlike marijuana,  hemp contains extremely low (less than 0.3%) THC. THC is the compound in marijuana that is psychoactive. CBD is not psychoactive.

  • Is hemp legal?

Yes.   In the USA the legal definition of “industrial hemp,” per Section 7606 of the Agricultural Appropriations Act of 2014, is “INDUSTRIAL HEMP — The term ‘‘industrial hemp’’ means the plant Cannabis sativa L. and any part of such plant, whether growing or not, with a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis.”

  • Is CBD legal?

Yes.  CBD is derived from industrial hemp, which is legal in the USA.

  • Are there side effects to CBD? Are there drug interactions with CBD?

We recommend that you discuss the use of CBD with your healthcare provider before using any hemp derived products.

  • What type of extraction processes are used to produce the CBD in your products?

Our ISO and Traditional Full Spectrum products are extracted from organic hemp using kosher alcohol.
